This week Kiwa Oesterbaai started with a new international project. Asbestos survey & consultancy in a large factory in Surinam, South-America. Besides the survey Kiwa Oesterbaai is also responsible for the total supervision and project management during removal and remedial works. The target is to safely dismantle the factory so there will be no harm of people and environment. The project will be carried according to high Dutch standards, which are not obliged by Surinam law. “The Dutch contractor doesn’t want to take any risks and wants to work under the highest norms possible, that’s why they asked us to do the project.” Says Kiwa Oesterbaai director Joris Gribnau.
The whole factory have to be dismantled, and doing so there must first be a survey risk assessments and advice, plans of action for removal or demolition supervision and to finalize the work it must also be overseen with project management during removal and remedial works. For swift delivery of work Kiwa Oesterbaai has set-up a local laboratory in which they can examine samples fast and accurate. Different countries can have different standards, we work according the highest norm possible. This takes away any uncertainty for the contractor and other stakeholders about the quality of the work done.
