Pre-docking Assistance / Reflagging Services
Following up the preliminary check by the classification society, we provide timely survey services during the pre-docking phase, ensuring you don't loose time and money. We are also specialized in compliance issues regarding reflagging.
Class societies do their preliminary survey and point out important areas and specific issues which will be fully inspected to maintain compliant to technical standards. Points of interest include operating systems, high pressure and high temperature parts. Before docking we come on board to check your vessel; we go behind locked doors, open cabinets and crawlspaces and check all the vital parts; in an ideal situation we do a full survey. By doing so, we make sure you make optimum use of your fleet, staff, time and docking period.
The so-called Flag of convenience (FOC) is a normal maritime practice whereby a ship's owner register a ship in a ship register of a country other than that of the ship's owners. A ship is than subject to the law of that particular country, which can be easier, or more convenient to use. Reflagging also brings new challanges 'on board'; the vessel must comply to the national laws and standards of that particular country. Oesterbaai Maritime & Offshore is an expert in helping our clients with HazMat compliance surveys for reflagging purposes; we know where to look, what to look for and do so with your commercial goals in mind. Reflag without a hassle; Oesterbaai is your partner for your vessels.
